DIY Fluted Accent Wall

What a fun project this was!! I was looking to do something new in my living room and I had seen several bloggers on my Instagram account doing something called, “fluting”. I loved the idea of this look because I knew it would give dimension and make a big impact in my small living room.

TOOLS NEEDED:

Miter Saw

Nail Gun

Level

Putty

Sander

Paint

This is the boards that I used to make the top part of the chair rail. I cut 45 degree angles in the corners to make the seams looks a clean as possible. Check out our stores to see how I wrapped this around my wall around the corner.

This is the square molding that I used for the fluting part! If you watched out IG stories you saw how I ran out of these… twice… haha that was not fun to fun all over town to find Home Depots that had these! How I spaced them out was doing one of these boards in between as my spacer.

After we got all the boards up we filled ALL the nail holes with putty… lots and lots of putty. Once all the nails holes are filled with putty, we sanded down all the excess putty so it was smooth to paint on. In hindsight.. I should have painted the wall first before nailing anything on to it. SOOO when it came time to paint… it was not fun haha
